Matted Monday #5

I skipped my weekly picture last week for a very good reason.  But now, back to the routine!
I’m pretty thrilled that my kiddos, mainly PX, are thrilled with these toys.  This is obvious proof that I’m doing a rocking job at parenting.

When I was little, trees were some of my first photography subjects.  In my box of good ol’ 4x6”-ers, if it’s not a snapshot of a person, it’s a tree.  There’s just always been something about the stark contrast of dark branches against a bright sky.

Matted Monday #1

I may not be the best on the block but photography has always been my first true love.  So what could be better than weekly photography posts?  Nothing.  Well, besides winning the Mega Millions, nothing.  Lifetime financial security is pretty awesome in my book.

 

A few weeks back my sweet, adorable, daredevil PX turned the big 2.0 and I got to indulge in my secret cake decorating fetish.  My favorite added bonus of parenthood is definitely the cake decorating.  Given the means, I like to fantasize about giving the Cake Boss a run for his money.  So PX’s 2nd favorite thing in the world besides Curious George is undoubtedly construction vehicles.  And what fun I got to have!

PX’s 1st Self-Portraits

PX has always been fascinated with my camera so now that he’s older (and can at least understand “don’t throw that!”) I let him play around with my camera from time to time.  Typically he just likes to press the buttons and watch the world go by on the LCD screen but the other day he turned it on himself.  And snapped these.  Perhaps this is the start of a fantastical love of photography.  Or maybe he was just amused by the flash.  Either way, he captured my two favorite since birth features:  the big curious eyes and the fuzzy ears. 

My Poor, Neglected Blog

I take a little mini-vacation sotospeak and my poor blog collects dust.

So much is going on around here, and unfortunately not much of it is fun and noteworthy.  It’s hit that point in summer where I look around and realize I am very much behind in life but have little motivation to catch up.  Perhaps after Daddy Drax’s birthday next week things will return to some sort of normality.

But for now, I’ll just include a visual representation of my birthday events and my mini-vacay.
